What is a Modular Stand?
Before we get into the Prestige Events System, it’s important to know what a modular stand is.
Modular exhibition stands are made from separate components that slot or lock together to create the finished stand structure. Though solutions differ, usually the framework is covered by graphic panels or fabric.
Since Modular stands are made from separate components, the individual parts can be rearranged to create different stand orientations, sizes or configurations. So, exhibitors can have a peninsula stand for one exhibition, and for the next, they could have an island stand, using the same graphic panels!
The individual structural components and substrates offered by contractors make up a system. For example, ours is the Prestige Events System, others use twist and lock or proprietary aluminium frames.
The Prestige Events System
The Prestige Events System is the UK’s leading exhibition stand design and build solution for modular exhibition stands, used exclusively by Quadrant2Design. Our stand system is Swiss-designed, high-quality, durable, yet flexible.
No other modular exhibition stand solution comes close to the standard of Prestige, which is why we never work with any other systems. The exhibition stands are reusable, sustainable, safe, portable, and easy to build with no tools needed.
The Prestige Events System is not a cheap banner system or twist-and-lock display. Exhibits are completely custom-designed, yet reusable, and available on a free-hire or purchase-to-self-build basis.
How Our Stands Differ From Other Modular Solutions
Durable
- Stands made in the Prestige Events System are high-quality and extremely durable, from the framework to the overlaying graphics.
- The stands consist of expandable aluminium framework elements, that lock into place. The expandable elements are reinforced and connected with durable magnetic bars.
- Enveloping graphics are premium quality, they generally outlast the branding printed on them!
Advanced Design | Customisability
- The Prestige Events System has an advanced design, allowing great creative freedom. Stands can host completely bespoke and customisable features, integrated products, lighting, and cut-outs while still being COMPLETELY reusable.
- A common stereotype of modular stands is that they are a boxy wall of graphics. Quadrant2Design stands are not limited to this typical boxy structure. We can create large curved structures as well as sharp edges to showcase your brand perfectly.
- Also, graphics and branding can be extended all the way to the floor, defining the stand space and maximising branding opportunities.
Why we Wouldn't Use...
Twist and Lock
These systems use many small connecting components that twist and lock together to create the final stand structure.
- Too many fiddly components make these structures tricky and slow to install.
- The systems are often restricted in their design, leaving exhibitors with sharp boxy edges.
- Lines between graphic panels are typically very obvious, giving graphics a checkered, unprofessional finish.
- Also, many Twist and lock systems use tension graphics as a substrate. These are labelled as reusable, but the nature of the installation often makes this impossible. Fabrics are pulled taut to display effectively. Upon reinstallation, this often means that the fabrics are stretched or warped and cannot be reused.
- Additionally, with fabric substrates, you are unable to add lighting to one specific part of the stand. If you light one part, you light it all. This would prevent us from using our eyecatching backlit graphics!
Proprietary Aluminium Systems
We refer to a range of exhibition stand systems as proprietary aluminium frames. Unlike our expandable frame, these structures are composed of individual framework elements that link together.
We use Octanorm, a type of proprietary frame in our secure storage, and sometimes, within stands, enabling us to host heavy features. So why wouldn’t we use this as our sole solution?
- These stands consist of heavy metal structures, and typically these are cumbersome and not economical to transport, move and install.
- These stands consist of a large metal framework. In this framework, there is nearly always unsightly metal structure which takes away from the messaging and branding.
- These stands also often use tension graphics, which cannot be reused, or printed Foamex, leaving unprofessional, thick breaks in the graphics.
- Like twist and lock systems, these systems often look very boxy, and do not offer a sleek finish.
Essentially, we would not use this structure as it is heavy and hard work. The unsightly framework and thick break lines in the graphics do not meet our standards.
Linking Banner Systems
Some exhibition contractors offer a series of banner stands that can be linked together for backdrops.
- These banner systems offer little to no customisability past the graphic panels and therefore do not bring the wow-factor.
- Quadrant2Design developed the Prestige Events System to offer design freedom and bespoke features. Due to the lower quality of these systems, they cannot be developed as the Prestige Events System has been.
- One of the great benefits of Modular is the reconfigurability. Due to the simple nature of this type of banner system, reconfigurations are very limited. This was not something we were willing to compromise on.
Summing Up
When it comes to modular exhibition stands, Quadrant2Design’s Prestige Events System stands out as a premier-quality, innovative, and highly customisable solution.
Twist and lock systems, linking banner systems, and proprietary aluminium systems have their place but do not offer the same level of creative freedom and impact as the Prestige Events System.
Ultimately, the choice of a modular stand system will depend on the specific needs and preferences of the exhibitor, but the flexibility, durability, and customisability of Quadrant2Design’s solution are unmatched.
