This week, we welcomed the Yamato team into our pre-build area, to quality-check their exhibition stand ahead of PPMA show.
We had the pleasure of interviewing Nick McLaren, Yamato’s Sales Manager, who has shared some brilliant insights on the pre-build experience.
About Yamato Scale Dataweigh
Yamato is an expert manufacturer, with over 100 years of manufacturing experience globally. The brand specialises in automatic weighing systems, primarily for the food industry, among other products like multihead weighers, checkweighers, commercial scales, metal detectors, X-ray inspection equipment and project solutions to complete the package.
Yamato will be exhibiting at the PPMA show (the Processing and Packaging Machinery Association) at the NEC, Birmingham. This show serves as an excellent opportunity for brands to meet clients, experts in the field, and show off equipment, products, and services! Yamato has been exhibiting at the show for a number of years and finds it particularly useful for meeting with partners and clients.
First Impressions on The Stand
Wow, just wow... It looks amazing, and we’re looking forward to seeing the reactions from our customers!
The Yamato team have changed their exhibition stand design for this year, adding colour and detailing to the stand graphics. The stand has a clean and bright design, with cogs to symbolise the brand’s manufacturing skill and gorgeous blossom flowers in a nod to the Japanese heritage.
Additional high-level features and backlit graphics ensure visibility at the show, and lighting in the showcases illuminates and draws attention to Yamato’s products.

Experiencing the Stand Before the PPMA Show
It's been a fantastic experience coming to view the stand prior to the show. It looks amazing the quality is fantastic. It’s been very beneficial, very worthwhile, and it puts a lot more comfort into receiving the stand at the show.
The Yamato team loved their stand and found it comforting to quality-check before event day. Nick shared that there were minor details he wanted to change on the stand, but that there was plenty of time to resolve them. This is the beauty of pre-build. With any other contractor, if issues arise, it’s on event day, and there’s nothing that can be done about it. Pre-build is the most useful dress rehearsal for any exhibition stand and it’s conducted well in advance of the show so that any alterations can be made in good time.
