Today in pre-build, our client LKQ Leisure and Marine joined us to see its two brands LKQ Aquafax and ASAP Supplies merged into one stand, at minimal cost! 

The brands on the stand

LKQ Leisure and Marine is the leading parts and accessories provider for the UK’s caravan, static home, motorhome, and marine leisure markets, covering offshore and inland waterways.

LKQ Aquafax is a significant Marine and Industrial Equipment distributor across all marine industry sectors.

ASAP Supplies, the final brand on the stand, is the foremost provider of marine equipment and spares worldwide for the Leisure, Trade, and Commercial sectors, focussing on maintenance, repair, and overhaul products.

The Southampton International Boat Show

LKQ Leisure and Marine is attending The Southampton International Boat Show, Britain’s largest and most famous boating festival, from the 13th until the 22nd of September 2024. This show is a key event in the industry, attracting great visitor numbers, so the exhibiting team wanted to impress!

We spoke with Nikita Rabbette from LKQ Leisure and Marine, who said:

“It’s a big show that goes on for many many days, and we’ve got a big stand to compensate!” 

The Brand Merge and Quadrant2Design’s Modular System

Before this event, LKQ Aquafax and Asap Supplies had separate stands. However, the team felt that merging the two brands, and including the wider group LKQ Leisure and Marine, would have greater commercial benefits, and impact at the show!

Luckily, with a modular stand system, this is possible! Quadrant2Design is experienced at reconfiguring panels and graphics to suit different stand types or spaces. In this merger, Quadrant2Design used many elements of the individual stands, and reconfigured them at minimal cost to our client!

“Sustainability is a massive part of our company, part of our wider group. Obviously, we’ve recycled these two stands into one, been able to use minimal new panels, and everything else is reused from our previous events”, said Nikita.

The Benefits of Pre-Build

Pre-build is always a beneficial service for clients, allowing them to quality-check the stand ahead of the exhibition. However, for clients with many heavy products incorporated into the stand design, pre-build is crucial. The LKQ team brought all their products to pre-build to trial the placement and ensure a smooth event day.

Nikita shared insights on the benefits of pre-build with heavier products.

“It’s very product heavy so if there’s any issues with there not being enough products, if we need new fixings, if we think something needs replacing, we can get that all done in good time”. 

Nikita was also concerned about colour-matching new and older panels, but her pre-build visit completely put her mind at ease.

“We’ve got some new panels, and I think there was a small concern that colouring and things like that weren’t going to be bang on because we’ve got old and new panels but yeah, no complaints, everything’s matched up perfectly and looks really really good.” 

When asked about her impression on the stand, Nikita said:

“It’s amazing to see it all come to life, and it’s just huge, so it’s a big impact, just wow.” 

Dan Taylor from LKQ Leisure & Marine also shared his thoughts on pre-build.

“Yeah, it’s looking really good, we need to make a couple of changes, but this is why we do this kind of thing to make sure everything looks absolutely perfect for the show. The new designs and branding look fantastic!” 

Bespoke Features

At Quadrant2Design, stands are custom-designed, yet reusable. They can host custom heavy-duty features, as seen in this pre-build, to incorporate the products into the stand design in a memorable and impactful way.

While pre-build is always significant, it is crucial to clients like LKQ, with bespoke features that allow products to be included in the stand!
