Leading up to the Southampton International Boat Show, our client, LKQ Leisure and Marine came to us with a proposition. The team had been exhibiting with separate stands for LKQ Leisure and Marine, LKQ Aquafax and ASAP Supplies. They wanted the ASAP Supplies stand, and the LKQ Aquafax stands to be merged under the wider LKQ Leisure and Marine group, at minimal cost, before the Southampton Boat Show!
About The Brands
LKQ Aquafax is a significant Marine and Industrial Equipment distributor across all marine industry sectors.
ASAP Supplies is the foremost provider of marine equipment and spares worldwide for the Leisure, Trade, and Commercial sectors, focussing on maintenance, repair, and overhaul products.
The wider Group –
LKQ Leisure and Marine is the leading parts and accessories provider for the UK’s caravan, static home, motorhome, and marine leisure markets, covering offshore and inland waterways.
The Brief
- Combine the ASAP Supplies and the Aquafax stands from 2023, including the wider group, LKQ Leisure and Marine.
- The space is 5 sqm smaller than the combined stand spaces of LKQ Aquafax and ASAP Supplies, so not all graphics can be utilised.
- The 5 sqm needs to be taken from the Aquafax stand.
- Some division between the brands is required.
- A new logo for LKQ Leisure and Marine needs to be added.
- Mounted product display is essential.
- An iPad to give visitors additional information would be useful.
The stands
Merging The Stands
When merging these stands, there were a couple of factors to consider.
- Cohesiveness / Multiple Brands on One Stand: Firstly, there had to be harmony and cohesion between the separate brands. In an ideal world, it should never be obvious that you’ve merged stands at all. The finished reconfiguration should look harmonious and natural with each brand commanding the right amount of attention.
- Sustainability / Minimal New Panels: The second factor to consider was sustainability. LKQ Leisure and Marine work incredibly hard on sustainability and did not want to use unnecessary materials in this project.
- Budget: LKQ Leisure and Marine had a budget for us to work within to achieve their goal.
Nikita Rabbette from LKQ Leisure and Marine shared:
Sustainability is a massive part of our company, part of our wider group. Obviously, we’ve recycled these two stands into one, been able to use minimal new panels, and everything else is reused from our previous events.
Our Solution
We worked to the brief, being cost and eco-aware while creating a harmonious final look. We added panels, dedicated to the LKQ Leisure and Marine Stand, with a branded endcap panel, and additional high-level branding to tie the look together.
Integrated Product Display
The next thing to consider was the integrated, and mounted product showcasing. LKQ Leisure and Marine along with its brands has many products to display. For maximised impact, return on investment, and professional finish, it was crucial to integrate these products into the stand.
To ensure our client had no variables on the day that could cause any problems, LKQ Leisure and Marine made the most of the stand pre-build, using it as a full exhibition stand dress rehearsal.
The Dress Rehearsal
We fully pre-build every stand ahead of every show for a full quality check. Clients are always invited to join and often use it as a full dress rehearsal.
Nikita shares the benefits of this quality check below.
We’ve got some new panels, and I think there was a small concern that colouring and things like that weren’t going to be bang on because we’ve got old and new panels. Everything’s matched up perfectly and looks really really good.
Next Up, The Southampton Boat Show
Following the pre-build was the show! Having trialled all the placements of the integrated product display in advance, LQK Lesuire and Marine could rest easy for the big day.
In the video below, LKQ’s Managing Director, Adam Ramsden, shares many insights. He delves into the show, exhibiting model, and the benefits of having two brands under one parent brand on the same stand.
It’s clear that bringing the brands under one modular stand has been truly beneficial to both the wider group and the visitors and buyers at the show. Adam says:
We brought the brands together this year, but we have also been able to use the modular design to bring it all together under the LKQ Leisure and Marine Banner.
To bring Aquafax and ASAP together has been very very powerful for us as a message to the customer.
