Working at Quadrant2Design | Glass Door Review | Jon Jacks
I’m the Pre-Press Manager here at Quadrant2Design. There are loads of different aspects to the job, but I mainly deal with quality control. When everything is designed it comes to me and I check the colour, size, look for any spelling mistakes, make sure the content is there and that nothing obstructs the graphics.
Previously I worked for a Sign making company, but it was all vinyl based so this is quite different. It’s a good different though because I’ve already learnt so much, which I would never have touched upon before if it wasn’t for my role. My knowledge of InDesign has come a long way, because this is a process driven role I really need to understand what I’m doing when using the programme.
What makes working here fun is working with an amazing team putting together an incredible design. The best bit is being able to see your own work once it’s been printed in our downstairs production area.
It’s a hard one, but if I had to swap jobs with anyone else it would have to be Kajal our Senior CAD Designer. Firstly because she is nearer the air-con, but more seriously she does the design element and also has responsibility overlooking the work.
Funnily enough I seemed to have bought my printing role back home. I like to print mugs in my spare time and even invested in a t-shirt printer, so look out for them soon! Other than that you can find me in Peppa Pig world chasing after my two children.
