Working at Quadrant2Design | Glass Door Review | Harry Clegg

I’m the Production Manager. I manage the Project Management team and the production areas. My day is spent doing various different things, a bit of the time is doing administrative duties as well as dealing with any issues that can crop up with production, project management or installation as the day pans out.

I haven’t always been in the exhibition industry, but all my working life I’ve worked in manufacturing and production, working my way up the ladder as the saying goes. A few years ago I did some University level qualifications in Management and Leadership, which have come in handy.

It’s quite interesting learning all the procedures and processes, really getting into the grips of everything that we do here. For that reason, if I could swap jobs for the day it would be with Sam our Technical Print Expert. It would be amazing to see how things work from the other side.

What I truly love about my role though is the amount of job satisfaction that I can get. Nothing beats seeing the whole life cycle of a job, installing a stand that I’ve watched come through the business.

It may seem like I work all hours of the day, but I do take time out to enjoy my hobbies. You may even call me a professional Chef if you’ve tasted my home-made pesto sauce, but really if I could I would love to get back into my running and swimming days.

  • What’s the best thing about working at Q2D?

The people, the atmosphere, the way we all work as a team, the amount of job satisfaction that I can get from seeing the whole life cycle a job end-end is really satisfying.

  • What’s your biggest achievement to date- personal or professional?

All my sporting achievements from when I was a kid mean quite a lot to me. I used to compete nationally in biathlon and swimming, as well as regional running.

  • If you had to swap jobs with anyone else in the company who would it be and why?

I would quite like to do Sam’s job. He’s the Technical Print Expert, so it would quite nice to see the technical side of what he does.

  • When you’re not working what can you be found doing?

My favourite past-time would be cooking. I love making my home-made pasta sauce, it’s really simple but everyone seems to love it.

  • Tell us something that we don’t know

When I was younger my best half-marathon time was 1hr45mins, but I can’t run like I used to. I prefer to draw now instead, mainly architecture.

  • Coffee or tea?

Coffee. Milk. Two Sugars.
