Working at Quadrant2Design | Glass Door Review | Emma Battman

I’ve moved around quite a few roles here at Quadrant, so I guess you can say I know the company and industry quite well.

I’m currently a Project Director and look after around 600 customers, obviously not all at the same time or that would be impossible! My job is to look after returning clients, helping them plot out what stand layout they need, additional graphics or any other general new bits.

Before this though I started off as a Project Manager, before moving to sales for a number of years. I even worked for exhibition organisers during my placement year, so it’s good having done both sides of the sector.

Since I’ve done a few roles here I would probably swap jobs with one of our Graphic Designers if I had to. Not saying that I would be good at it, but its the opportunity to try something new that intrigues me.

A big part of what I do is similar to figuring out a puzzle. Trying to use our client’s existing graphics in a new space, and this process is helped greatly by the amazing team around me; communication is the key to our success here.

Working at Quadrant2Design

My biggest achievement so far, is personal but it’s related to work. Having come straight out of Uni I have worked hard and this  led to buying my own home at the age of 25. It’s a very proud milestone to have achieved at such a young age, which spurs me on to continue a strong work ethic.

  • Tell us a bit about your role here at Quadrant2Design

  • What’s the best thing about working at Q2D?

Without doubt the people, everyone gets along and is down to earth. I think if you were to work with people, or have to work with people you struggle to communicate with that would make things more difficult.

  • What’s your biggest achievement to date- personal or professional?

It’s a personal achievement and it is related to work, in that having come straight from Uni and working here at Quadrant I bought my first house at 25.

  • If you had to swap jobs with anyone else in the company who would it be and why?

I’ve done quite a few roles here from Project Management through to Sales, so I suppose I would like to try my hand at Graphic Design- not that I would be good at it!

  • When you’re not working what can you be found doing?

Probably not in the house, I’m more out and about. Probably either out eating food, I like trying different places and love to make good use of my holiday- do something different, see something different.

  • Tell us something that we don’t know

In the past few years I have been getting into camping. I always thought I would be more of a city girl, but I’ve embraced all there is to nature since becoming Bournemouth based.

  • Coffee or tea?

Tea, but interestingly it’s the only thing in my pregnancy that has changed so far. I used to be tea and milk, now I have to have sugar in my tea.
