Recyclable stands are more sustainable than traditional custom-built stands, but they are not the most sustainable option on the market, unless they are also reusable.
The key to ultimate sustainability is longevity and repeated use, with recyclability as an end-of-life benefit, rather than the main sustainability feature.
Recyclable exhibition stands could be compared to a recyclable carrier bag. They’re better than a non-recyclable, disposable stand, but they’re not built for repeat use and longevity, and so, do not trump the trusted tote bag.
Modular stands in contrast are made from aluminium frames and reusable graphic panels. Not only can the aluminium frames be hired from a library of stock, saving on the mining of valuable materials, but aluminium itself can be recycled indefinitely!
