Exhibition stand design and build services at The NEC in Solihull and venues throughout Birmingham.
Officially the UK’s largest exhibition venue, with 20 interconnecting halls and 34 conference suites, all set in the grounds of 611 acres.
Located just outside of Birmingham, the NEC is also unmatched in terms of its accessibility by road, rail and air – making it the UK’s best connected venue.
Given its convenient location, bang in the centre of the country, it’s no surprise the NEC has become the UK’s number one exhibition venue, welcoming around 2.4 million visitors and over 39,000 exhibiting companies to more than 125 exhibitions every year.
There is no doubt about it, this exhibition venue is big. It is so big, the record total attendance for one day at the NEC is 100,000 – more visitors than can fit into Wembley stadium.
Some of the NEC’s annual exhibitions and trade shows include:
Whatever industry you might be in, there is an event for you at the NEC.
Getting to the NEC is incredibly easy, whatever form of transport you’re taking.
Being located bang in the middle of the UK’s motorway network, travelling by car is the perfect way to get to the NEC. The venue is clearly signposted from the M42, M40 and M6. The postcode for your satnav is: B40 1NT.
Parking there is no problem. The NEC has 29,000 car parking spaces spread around the site, with a shuttle bus service operating to and from the car parks.
With its very own train station on main cross-country routes, travelling by train is equally as straight-forward. The best place to catch a connecting train is Birmingham New Street station, which is only a mere 15 minutes away.
Birmingham Airport is right on the NEC’s doorstep and has a free monorail link to the NEC train station. With connecting flights to many European capitals and internal flights across the UK, flying to the NEC is incredibly easy and stress free.
Opened by The Queen in 1976, the very first exhibition to be held at the NEC was the International Spring Fair, which has returned to the venue every year since – the event now occupies all of the NEC’s 20 halls.
The NEC was actually intended for a different location entirely, as it was originally going to be built off the M1 junction 21 near Leicester. However, the proposal was turned down by Leicestershire County Council as it was felt, at the time, that there was no appetite for big exhibitions and shows outside London.
The venue is an excellent place to network with other businesses. Outside the halls and conference suites, the venue is surrounded by 75 acres of fields and woodland, should exhibitors wish to take the action into the open air. Also, on the venue site there is a shopping centre, a cinema, a casino and even a spa resort – should you wish to unwind with some well-deserved pampering after your event.
With 40 years of exhibitions and event experience behind them the NEC continues to grow and provide an exciting service to exhibitors.
