About ACC Liverpool

Situated on the banks of the River Mersey at the heart of the city’s iconic waterfront, ACC Liverpool is a unique and award-winning exhibition venue that can meet any event requirements.  It is part of the Liverpool Event Campus – an interconnected arena and exhibition centre.

Built and launched in time to help Liverpool celebrate its European Capital of Culture status in 2008, ACC Liverpool has already gained world-wide recognition for hosting prestigious events and exhibition shows.

Since it’s opening, ACC Liverpool has attracted over 7.9 million visitors to 4,300 events and generated £1.8bn in economic benefit for the local economy.

ACC Liverpool has a 3,725sqm hall on the ground floor, with a 1,350 capacity auditorium and 21 break out rooms. The venue is suitable for large exhibitions which can take advantage of the campus’s interconnected facilities. The entire campus has a combined exhibition floor space of 7,125sqm.

Its striking design and waterfront location make it a perfect exhibition venue for any event.

Travelling to the Venue

With two international airports close by, ACC Liverpool is accessible from all parts of the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport has direct flights from many major European cities and is only 25 minutes away from the venue on its express Route 500 bus service.

Alternatively, Manchester Airport has a more extensive network of flights, with long haul flights to America and the Far East, and is only 45 minutes away via the motorway network.

ACC Liverpool is only a short taxi or bus ride away from Liverpool Lime Street station, which is just over two hours away from London by train.

If you’re driving to ACC Liverpool from the south you need to leave M6 at junction 21A and then take the M62 to Liverpool. From here simply follow signs for “the Waterfront”.

If you’re coming in from the north, leave the M6 at junction 26 and follow signs for M58. Follow the M58 to the end and then get on the A59, and then just follow signs for “The waterfront”.  The postcode you need for your satnav is: L3 4FP.

Stoked in History

ACC Liverpool opened its doors in January 2008 for the official opening ceremony for Liverpool’s year as the Capital of Culture. This was the launch of a year-long festival of events, signalling the culmination of a decade of regeneration in the city.

Plans to develop the under-used land at Liverpool’s Kings Dock first started as far back as 2000. A range of options for the disused site were considered but an exhibition and convention centre was identified as the most likely to have the biggest impact on the city’s employment and the economy.

Costing £164 million to build, the venue’s construction was financed by Liverpool City Council and EU funding. In 2005, the ACC Liverpool Group led the building of the team to manage, market and operate the new centre.

In 2018, ACC Liverpool brought over £193m in economic benefit for the city of Liverpool – bringing the overall economic impact since the complex opened to more than £1.8bn.  During the same period, 248 exhibitions and events took place attracting 750,000 delegates and visitors.
