Eggceptional quality at this year’s IFE

For generations, the Cottey family farm has been producing dairy and beef. However today, the 37 acre farm focuses purely on providing the finest free-range eggs available, fusing traditional free-range farming methods and high animal welfare standards with cutting edge technology.

With a brand new, state of the art, grading and packing centre now on site, the farm is able to grade over 1,000,000 eggs a day, allowing the family to provide fresh, free-range produce to both the local and national customers. This advanced machinery has allowed Blackdown Hills Westcountry Eggs to make their aim, of becoming the leading producer and regional packer of free range eggs within the South West, a very achievable goal. The new grading facility has also resulted in brand new packaging and a company facelift, something the Cottey’s will be exhibiting at the upcoming International Food and Drink Event (IFE) in March.

IFE 2015 is the UK’s largest food and drink event, providing the perfect opportunity to source high quality produce, keep up to date on trends and network with the finest producers in the industry. This year, IFE will be split into nine sections, making it easier for visitors to navigate. These sections will include Meat and Seafood, Drinks, and Speciality and Regional Food from Britain and Ireland – where Blackdown Hills Westcountry Eggs will be located.

Blackdown’s hens and British Lion Marked eggs are not the only passion of the Cotteys. The farm maintains a self-sufficient, green ethos, with a Bio mass boiler heating the packing house and Solar Panels lining the roofs of the chicken sheds. This sustainable philosophy has also spilled over into the farm’s choice of exhibition stand, the Prestige Exhibition System. Provided by Quadrant2Design, the Prestige Exhibition System is a modular, portable stand that can be reused at all shows throughout the year, eliminating any waste.

Blackdown Hills Westcountry Eggs will be on stand N1350 at IFE 2015, ExCel, form the 22nd-25th March. For more information about the show, or to register, visit
